Felipe A. Cerni holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Araraquara - UNIARA, and a Master's and PhD in Science with emphasis on Toxicology from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto - FCFRP, University of São Paulo - USP. During his Master's and PhD, he completed internships abroad at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven - KULeuven, in Belgium, with a BEPE FAPESP scholarship. Cerni also has two postdoctoral degrees from the Department of Biomolecular Sciences at FCFRP-USP, with scholarships from CNPq and FAPESP, and another postdoctoral degree at the Technical University of Denmark, in Denmark, with a BEPE FAPESP scholarship. In addition, he served as a visiting professor and Post-Graduation advisor in Health Sciences - PROCISA at the Federal University of Roraima - UFRR. Currently, he is conducting postdoctoral research at the State University of Manaus in collaboration with the Heitor Vieira Dourado Tropical Medicine Foundation. Felipe A. Cerni has also actively participated in entrepreneurship and innovation programs and events. Among them, the INOVA Amazônia and CATALISA ICT acceleration programs, promoted by SEBRAE, deserve special mention. It is worth noting that Cerni is a co-founder of the startup Zeta Venom, which has achieved prominence in these programs, being ranked among the top 100 Brazilian startups of 2022 in the "Like a Boss" program of SEBRAE. Cerni has extensive experience in areas such as Toxicology, Parasitology, Immunology, Electrophysiology, Bioprospecting, Biochemistry, Epidemiology, and Innovation. He has dedicated himself particularly to the study of Neglected Diseases present in indigenous communities, Venomous Animals, Venoms and Animal-derived Neurotoxins, Antivenoms, and Phage Display. With around 50 scientific articles published in prestigious international journals and 5 unpublished peptide sequences deposited in an international database (UniProtKB/Swiss Prot.), Cerni collaborates with various institutions abroad and has directed his activities towards the search for molecules derived from animal venoms/peptides for therapeutic use.
