Abstract

This research intends to think the relations between space, cinema and education, from the production of a short documentary realized inside a public school on the county of Indaiatuba (SP). The documentary Cartografia dos encontros na escola (Cartography of the encounter in the Scool) was created with the participation of some students, teachers, employees e parents, who, through workshops of screenplay e filming, were invited to experience with us the construction of an open learning process, whose ways were traced by the heat of the encounters, in which we negotiated collectively the means that gestated the what, how and where to film. Based on the concepts of encounter, becoming and cartography, originally from the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, we look to comprehend this process as cartographic, in the perspective that we dive in that reality to follow the movements that discharge another spatial becoming¿s and, therefore, new ways of feeling, thinking e dwell that school-place. Place that, by the light of what proposes the english geographer Doreen Massey, it¿s seen as a co-presence of multiple trajectories, human and non-human, in permanent reconfiguration. Through this optics, places that pre-exist, but make themselves on the here-now of the encounters. Therefore, the experimentation of these concepts from the realization of a documentary, inserts itself in the context of investigations between cinema and school that looks to analyze the potentialities of experiences of image production in what concerns gestate new perceptions about the spatiality woven in the scholar daily schedule. We are align to the researches that defend the Cinema as a practice of alterity, as a tool that provokes changes in the forms of perceive and invent a place. On this canary, we are guided by the creative process of contemporary documentarists, which starts from a minimal plot before the camera. Eduardo Coutinho was our main inspiration in the sense that establishes spatial-temporal limitations (filming characters of a building, shanty towns or theaters in a certain hiatus in time). Looking to transform the set in a place of negotiation of a reality that actualizes itself in being with. We looked to create a school-place that would provoke shakes, even if punctual, in the predominant conceptions of space in scholar contexts. The cartography of the encounters between cinema and school, on this research, bet on the interface among cartography and documental making, defending the conception of documentarists-cartographer as the one who follows a learning-filming process, by the means of imbricating the dimensions of learning, researching and cinema resident in a filming production. In front of the movement of following process, we had as premise the intention of problematize the condition of space as only extensive, and the documentary as mere representation of the reality (AU)
