Resumo

A nanotecnologia tem o potencial de impactar a agricultura através da nanoencapsulação de pesticidas, herbicidas e agroquímicos, resultando em dosagem precisa de ativos para as plantas. Sabe-se que as nanopartículas de prata e cobre têm uma potente atividade antimicrobiana contra vários patógenos. Embora essas nanopartículas tenham sido muito exploradas em aplicações biomédicas, suas aplicações na defesa de plantas ainda são poucos exploradas. As nanopartículas metálicas podem ser sintetizadas por rotas químicas, físicas e biogênicas. A síntese biogênica de nanopartículas metálicas é considerada econômica e não causa danos ambientais. Nesse sentido, este projeto propõe a síntese biogênica de nanopartículas de prata e cobre utilizando fungos, especificamente fungos da podridão branca, em uma abordagem verde. A superfície das nanopartículas de prata ou cobre sintetizadas biogenicamente será funcionalizada com doadores de óxido nítrico (NO), uma vez que o NO é um potente agente antimicrobiano. O NO é uma molécula endógena que controla vários processos fisiológicos em mamíferos e plantas, incluindo a defesa de plantas contra patógenos. Embora nanopartículas metálicas doadoras de NO tenham sido exploradas em aplicações biomédicas, seus usos na agricultura não foram explorados. As nanopartículas metálicas doadoras de NO serão incorporadas em óleos essenciais, que possuem atividade antimicrobiana. Portanto, o objetivo deste projeto é usar uma abordagem verde para sintetizar nanopartículas metálicas, revestir sua superfície com a molécula antimicrobiana de NO e incorporar as nanopartículas em óleos essenciais, em aplicações agrícolas para o controle de pragas. Espera-se reduzir as aplicações de pesticidas e aumentar a segurança alimentar. (AU)
