Resumo

The goals of this program are to provide instruction on modern molecular methodologies used in physiology research to graduate students, medical students, and postdoctoral fellows primarily in Brazil but also from additional South American countries (e.g. Argentina), and to foster collaboration between South American and American physiologists. The program (preliminary program detailed below) will be comprised of lectures, small group sessions, one-on-one mentoring sessions with participating faculty, and trainee presentations with faculty feedback. We propose a 5-day program during which time the trainees will develop a plan for a novel in vivo model system for their research projects.Following the trainee program, we propose a Symposium on Hydromineral and Energy Balance to which we will invite speakers working with these advanced techniques.
