Neurobiologia do medo e da ansiedade

Resumo

Este projeto visa avançar o conhecimento atual sobre os fundamentos que regem o processamento das informações sensoriais e a expressão comportamental, bem como os mecanismos eletrofisiológicos e neuroquímicos subjacentes às respostas aversivas associadas ao medo e à ansiedade. Os estudos estão dispostos em sete grandes grupos representando os correlatos comportamentais (modulação neuroquímica e a determinação ambiental), sensoriais (analgesia induzida pelo estresse), eletrofisiológicos, neuroimunoistoquímicos e neuroquímicos da reação de defesa. Neste último projeto, esforços também serão realizados visando o desenvolvimento de compostos com potencial ansiolítico. (AU)
