Resumo

Este projeto tem como objetivo a aquisição de um analisador de distribuição de tamanho de partículas, um medidor de potencial zeta, um spray dryer e um sistema de cromatografia líquida de ultra alta pressão/espectrômetro de massa (UPLC-MS) para inovação e desenvolvimento nas pesquisas em Engenharia de Alimentos: encapsulação de compostos bioativos, biocombustíveis e novos materiais. Os equipamentos serão instalados em um laboratório central, no Departamento de Engenharia de Alimentos, em local já existente. Sua utilização pelos grupos de pesquisa que os pleiteiam se dará basicamente nas áreas de encapsulação de compostos bioativos, produção de biocombustíveis, caracterização de novos materiais. Atualmente, os pesquisadores da Faculdade de Engenharia de Alimentos contratam as análises de tamanho de partícula e potencia zetallight scattering em outras unidades da UNICAMP, o que implica em um grande desembolso de verba para pagamento de serviços de terceiros, uma vez que todos os trabalhos realizados na área de microencapsulação e novos materiais incluem essa análise. O sistema de cromatografia líquida de ultra alta pressão acoplado à espectrometria de massa, inédito em grupos de pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo, permitirá a todas as equipes envolvidas uma melhor e mais completa caracterização de bioprodutos, sistemas encapsulados e misturas complexas que ocorrem na produção de biocombustíveis, aumentando sua competitividade e inserção internacional. Espera-se como resultado que o presente projeto promova aumento qualitativo e quantitativo do desempenho científico e tecnológico das equipes envolvidas, com o aumento do número de publicações em periódicos indexados, maior inserção e divulgação internacional, podendo ainda culminar em futuras aplicações industriais.
