Resumo

The proposed course has the objective to teach basic and advanced theoretical concepts for the use of Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The practical learning for the use of different TEM techniques will also be covered in practical and demonstrative sessions of the attendees along with specialists in the respective techniques. Attendees from productive and academic sectors make the target audience of the 7th TEM Summer School. Graduated students and researchers from engineering, material science, physics, chemistry and correlated areas, from institutions from all countries of Latin America will be prepared for the consequent use of different techniques of TEM for the structural and compositional analysis of nano- and micro-structured materials. By the participation in this course, the attendees will be trained and qualified both in basic TEM techniques/concepts and in the associated techniques, like electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), advanced electron diffraction, electron tomography and quantitative electron microscopy. By the execution of this course, LNNano intend to disseminate the capabilities and the use of TEM techniques, promote the qualification of new users for the LNNano facilities and train the current users. The scientific environment of the 7th TEM Summer School will stimulate new scientific partnerships between the attendees, lecturers and LME researchers. Finally, LNNano expects to increase the productivity and impact of the work done using the multiuser facilities of LME-LNNano. (AU)
