Resumo

Contextualização: A regulação do controle postural envolve processos cognitivos e sensoriais na organização e integração da informação. Na rotina diária, frequentemente observam-se situações em que se faz necessária a realização de tarefas motoras e cognitivas simultaneamente. Considerando que cognição e controle postural podem requerer mecanismos comuns de processamento central, a realização simultânea destas tarefas pode resultar em demanda que ultrapassa a disponibilidade de recursos do sistema nervoso central resultando em menores níveis de desempenho em uma das tarefas em detrimento da outra. Objetivo: O objetivo do presente estudo é avaliar em crianças e adultos se a estabilidade postural é afetada por tarefas cognitivas e se o desempenho cognitivo é afetado pelas tarefas posturais. Métodos: Serão avaliadas 18 crianças entre oito e onze anos e 18 adultos jovens entre 20 e 35 anos. Na condição de simples tarefa (ST) os participantes desempenharão a tarefa primária, de avaliação postural. Todos serão avaliadas em ortostatismo em quatro condições diferentes: pés paralelos, pés unidos, pés paralelos sobre a espuma e pés unidos sobre a espuma. Na condição de dupla tarefa (DT), os participantes desempenharão a atividade primária enquanto executam concomitantemente uma tarefa de demanda cognitiva. Esta tarefa envolverá uma atividade aritmética de subtração. As variáveis dependentes analisadas serão: Entropia Amostral para o controle postural e número de respostas (NR) dadas, números de erros (E) e número de respostas corretas (NBR), expresso por (NR-E) para a tarefa cognitiva. Para avaliar os efeitos das tarefas posturais e cognitivas em cada grupo será utilizado um modelo de análise de variância de medidas repetidas (ANOVA medidas repetidas). Quando necessário, será utilizado o post hoc de Tukey. O nível de significância adotado será de 5%. Resultados esperados: Acredita-se que a adição de uma tarefa cognitiva a uma postural, desvie o foco de atenção da criança do controle postural, reduzindo a regularidade das trajetórias posturais e aumentando o automatismo deste controle. Espera-se encontrar um efeito mais pronunciado da DT na população infantil por sua reduzida habilidade de integração central.
