Influência da fonte proteica da dieta na adaptação crônica ao treinamento de força

Resumo

Os principais estímulos anabólicos para o ganho de massa muscular são o exercício físico e a ingestão de proteínas da dieta. Estes estímulos atuam aumentando a síntese proteica muscular (SPM) e inibindo e/ou atenuando a degradação proteica muscular (DPM), levando a um balanço proteico positivo que, mantido cronicamente, resulta em aumento de massa muscular. Porém, a resposta gerada na SPM a partir da ingestão de proteínas/aminoácidos depende de alguns aspectos, tais como da dose, do timing da ingestão e da fonte de proteína. A literatura é relativamente vasta em relação aos efeitos da dose e timing da ingestão proteica; contudo, em relação à fonte proteica, apesar da ciência sugerir que há diferenças no potencial de otimização do estímulo anabólico induzido pelo exercício, mesmo quando são comparadas proteínas de alto valor biológico, as respostas ainda não são conclusivas. Portanto, o objetivo do presente estudo é avaliar o impacto da fonte proteica nas adaptações induzidas pelo treinamento de força. Para tal, indivíduos veganos (VEG) - que consomem proteínas exclusivamente de fonte vegetal -, e indivíduos omnívoros (OMN) - que ingerem proteínas vegetais e animais -, equiparados pela quantidade total de proteína ingerida por dia, serão submetidos a um programa de treinamento de força e avaliados quantos aos ganhos de força e massa muscular ao final do período. Serão realizados avaliação e controle dietéticos através de recordatórios alimentares de 24 horas. Com esses dados, a complementação da proteína da dieta será realizada de forma a equiparar a quantidade de ingestão proteica de ambos os grupos (1,7 g. kg-1. d-1), sendo a fonte proteica o único diferencial entre eles. Os sujeitos serão submetidos a 12 semanas de treinamento de força e controle da dieta. Serão determinados a força dinâmica máxima (1-RM) no leg press, a área de secção transversa do vastus lateralis e a avaliação da composição corporal. Os dados serão tratados para medidas repetidas e serão assumidos grupo e tempo como fatores fixos e sujeitos como fator randômico. O nível de significância será pré-estabelecido em p < 0,05. (AU)
