I have completed my doctoral degree during 2008 in the field of Neuroscience from Bharathiar University Coimbatore, India. After my PhD, I joined as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Turin, Italy for the period of January 2009 to August 2010. During this tenure, I have studied the role of GDNF signaling on spinal cord lamina I and II regions using calcium imaging and confocal microscopy in P8 mice spinal cord slices. Following completion of my tenure at Turin, I was offered an exciting project in Department of Neuroscience, University Science Malaysia during the period of 2011-2012. During this research tenure, I got excellent training on an advanced real time behavioral monitoring device known as the IntelliCage Exposure (IE) system. I specifically worked on the area of fluid percussion injury (FPI) based mice models and designed a novel strategy to elucidate the locomotors and morphological changes in striatum using IE system. Based on the findings, we hypothesized that IE to FPI animals may provide the necessary enriched environment, induce motivated voluntary physical exercises, and enhance social interactions to accelerate striatum-derived neurogenesis. And these factors could be beneficial in traumatic brain injury-related therapeutic strategies. Apart from this study, I was also exposed a state of art tool involving microRNA microarray using Partek genome suite. I used this tool in measuring the microRNA profiling in embryonic striatal precursors and finding their downstream mRNA targets. All these works have recently published. My overall research endeavors till now have produced seven first authored publications and eight co-authored peer reviewed publications. My role as a researcher also comprised guiding master dissertations, writing projects, designing experiments and successful execution of the projects. I have received many National and International travel awards and fellowship for conducting my work and work related presentations. At Present, I have been working as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Neuropsychopharmacology, University of Sao Paulo, Riberio Preto Campus since April, 2012. I have been working on Neurobiology of anxiety and fear behavior of rats. (Fonte: Currículo Lattes)
