Aurea Rossy Soriano Vargas

Aurea is a computer scientist and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) expert, focusing particularly on Visual Analytics, Information Visualization, Machine Learning, and Data Science, with more than 10 years of experience in the field. She is a senior AI researcher and research coordinator of Hub Viva Bem at Recod.ai, situated within the Institute of Computing at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society.She is currently undertaking an MBA in Project Management to enhance her leadership skills, particularly in the context of AI projects. She participated in two postdoctoral projects from 2018 to 2021 at UNICAMP. She earned a doctorate and a master's degree in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, in 2018 and 2013, respectively. She has international experiences, including her research tenure at the University of California, Davis, her roles as an invited professor at the National University of San Agustín, Perú, and Data Science Research Perú (NGO), as well as her contributions as a professor assistant at USP and collaborator professor at UNICAMP.She has experience in cutting-edge projects with innovative solutions that combine Machine Learning and Information Visualization, providing viable solutions to complex challenges associated with forecasting, analysis, and explainability across diverse time series domains. She is the author of impactful publications and imparts her insights and research findings as a frequent speaker at academic and business conferences.
