Prof Regina Berretta is Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computing, The University of Newcastle, Australia, and chief investigator at the ARC Training Centre for Food and Beverage Supply Chain Optimisation. Prof Berretta holds degrees in Computational and Applied Mathematics, Mathematics for Teaching, a Master and PhD in the area of metaheuristic methods to solve integer programming models applied to production planning problems. Her main research interest is in the development of optimisation mathematical models and computational methods to solve complex combinatorial optimization problems in several areas (production planning, bioinformatics, among others). She has published more than 80 papers and was awarded more than 30 grants.
