Cumpriu ainda parte do seu doutorado em Periodontia (Doutorado Sanduiche) no Department Of Oral Biology - State University of New York at Buffalo-School of Dental Medicine (2002). Atualmente é Professor e responsável pela área de Implantodontia do Programa de Pós-graduação em Odontologia (Doutorado e Mestrado) da Universidade Guarulhos. Atua como Visiting Professor and Research Fellow of Department of Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine, University of Chieti, Chieti, Italy, University of Murcia, Espanha e da Universidad Catolica do Uruguay, em Montevideo, Uruguai. Tem experiência na área de Odontologia, com ênfase em Implantodontia, Cirurgia e Periodontia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Implantes osseointegrados, Biomateriais, Arcabouços Biomiméticos, 3D printing, scaffolds, fatores de crescimento, Cirurgias Regenerativas, Comportamento do Tecido Ósseo Peri-implantar, Terapêutica Periodontal e Peri-implantitar, Zircônia e Laser de alta e baixa intensidade. Publicou no último decênio 127 artigos no PubMed, assessorou fundações de amparo a pesquisa de diversos estados brasileiros além de países como Chile, Israel e Austrália. Em publicação deTarazona et al. Clin Oral Implants Res. 2017 Jul;28(7):864-870. doi: 10.1111/clr.12891, foi listado entre os 20 pesquisadores que mais publicaram em Implantodontia no mundo.
