Norberto Cysne Coimbra, formado em Medicina pela Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (1988), Mestre em Ciências com Distinção e Louvor (Magister Scientiae, cum Laude) (Área de Concentração: Neuropsicobiologia) pela Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto-USP (1991), concluiu o Doutorado em Ciências (Scientiae Doctor) (Área de Concentração: Morfologia-Biologia Celular) na Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo (FMRP-USP) em 1995 (Departamento de Morfologia). Como ex-Docente do Departamento de Morfologia da FMRP-USP (1991-2001), trasladou-se para o Departamento de Farmacologia da FMRP-USP em 28/2/2001. Realizou Pós-doutorado no "Pain Imaging Neuroscience (PaIN) Group of the Department of Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics of the University of Oxford" (denominado "Human Anatomy & Genetics Department" até dezembro de 2005), de 09/01/2006 a 30/06/2006, e no "Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB) of the Clinical Neurology Department of the University of Oxford (Oxford, England, United Kingdom)", de 01/07/2006 a 08/01/2007. Livre Docente em Neuroanatomia pelo Departamento de Cirurgia e Anatomia da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo (2010), exerceu o cargo de Professor Assistente Doutor na FMRP-USP de 1991 a 1995, foi Professor Doutor na FMRP- USP de 1995 a 2010, exercendo a partir de então a função de Professor Associado da Universidade de São Paulo, onde tem exercido suas atividades no Departamento de Farmacologia da FMRP-USP (desde meados de 2001). Após progressão horizontal na carreira em 2013, tornou-se Professor Associado III na Universidade de São Paulo. Publicou 119 artigos completos em periódicos especializados e 253 resumos em anais de congressos e periódicos científicos. Possui 11 capítulos de livros publicados. É "referee" de diversas revistas especializadas de circulação internacional (Neuropharmacology, Experimental Neurology, Neuroscience, Brain Research, Pain, Basic & Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology, Anatomy Record, Clinical Anatomy, Journal of the Peripheral Nervous System, Braz. J. Med. Biol. Res., Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, Physiology & Behavior, Nutritional Neuroscience, Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology & Biological Psychiatry, Neurocience Letters, Journal of Pain), consultor ad hoc do CNPq, da FAPESP e da CAPES. Participou de vários eventos no exterior e no Brasil. Orientou 22 alunos de mestrado e 19 alunos de doutorado, além de ter orientado 4 alunos de pré-iniciação científica, 50 acadêmicos de iniciação científica, 2 aluno do Trans-Pacific Program & International Federation of Medical Students' Associations Program", 7 alunos de aperfeiçoamento científico, 8 trabalhos de conclusão de curso (Bacharelado, Licenciatura Plena e TCC), e atuado como supervisor de 15 trabalhos de pós-doutorado concluídos, nas áreas de neuropsicofarmacologia, neuroeletroquímica, neuroanatomia e neurofisiologia, e supervisionou 8 alunos PAE. Recebeu 7 prêmios e/ou homenagens. Entre 1995 e 2018 coordenou 14 projetos individuais de pesquisa e um projeto temático (NAP-USP-Neurobiologia das Emoções-NuPNE), sendo que atuou como Pesquisador Principal ou colaborador em outros 5 Projetos Temáticos/Multiusuários. Atua na área de Psiconeurofarmacologia, Neuropsicobiologia e na área de Morfologia-Biologia Celular, com ênfase em Neuroanatomia Descritiva e Aplicada. Em suas atividades profissionais interagiu com cerca de 160 colaboradores em coautorias de trabalhos científicos. É membro Titular da Área de Pós-graduação em Neurologia da FMRP-USP, Membro titular da Comissão de Ética da FCFRP-USP, Membro suplente da Comissão de Ética em Pesquisa Animal da FMRP-USP, foi Membro Titular do Grupo de Apoio Pedagógico de Ribeirão Preto (GAP-RP-USP), é membro Titular do conselho do Departamento de Farmacologia da FMRP-USP.
