Vinicius da Silva Sorgi

Graduated in Philosophy from the State University of Campinas. Currently studying a master's degree in the Postgraduate Program in Philosophy at the same university on the themes metaphysics of emergence, metaphysics of mind and philosophy of science. In my master's thesis, I discuss the mind-body problem, namely, the problem of how causal interaction between mind and body is possible, and I consider the difficulties that the traditional atomist ontological model poses for the problem of emergence and causality of the mental domain. Furthermore, I consider how the orthodox relational ontological model can offer solutions to the mind-body problem and the problem of metaphysical emergence.
