I am an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology at the Faculdade de Medicina de São José do Rio Preto (FAMERP). I hold a degree in Veterinary Medicine from FMVZ/UNESP (Botucatu campus) and completed a specialization at the Colorado Veterinary Laboratory in Denver, CO. I earned a masters degree in Veterinary Pathology (1999) and a Ph.D. in Clinical Medicine (2001) from FCAV/UNESP (Jaboticabal campus).At FAMERP, I serve as an advisor and faculty member in the postgraduate programs in Health Sciences and Biosciences, the latter offered at IBILCE/UNESP (São José do Rio Preto campus). I am also an ad hoc consultant for FAPESP and CNPq and a member of the Ethics Committee on the Use of Animals (CEUA/FAMERP).My professional affiliations include the Brazilian Association of Veterinary Oncology (since 2005), the American Association for Cancer Research (since 2011), the Brazilian Society for Laboratory Animal Science (since 2014), and the European Society for Medical Oncology and Veterinary Cancer Society (since 2019). From 2006 to 2021, I coordinated the FAMERP Bioterism Center.My research focuses on biochemistry, molecular biology, and experimental and comparative oncology. I specialize in identifying biomarkers for breast cancer and studying the effects of melatonin on tumorigenesis, cell proliferation, and metastasis in in vitro and in vivo models.In addition to my academic roles, I contribute to cancer research as an editor and reviewer for several scientific journals and participate in grant review panels for research foundations, including FAPESP, CAPES, and CNPq.
