Holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry at São Paulo State University (UNESP), Araraquara campus (1999), a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the same institution (2005), and a Livre-Docência title in Inorganic Chemistry from the School of Sciences and Technology at UNESP (2024). Served as an Associate Researcher in the Department of Physics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) from 2006 to 2008; as a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Southern California (USC), USA (20082009); and as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Birmingham (UoB), UK (2012). Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Presidente Prudente campus of UNESP. He leads the Research Group on Luminescent Materials and Sensors (LLuMeS), which is part of the Central Laboratory for Innovation in Materials Applied to Sustainability (CLIMAS)a multi-user facility coordinated by Prof. Dr. Carlos J. L. Constantino that brings together infrastructure, researchers, and technical staff from the Departments of Physics and Chemistry and Biochemistry at FCT-UNESP. Has experience in Inorganic Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, and Condensed Matter Physics, with an emphasis on luminescent materials. His main research interests include photoluminescence and electroluminescence, thin films, zinc oxide, lanthanide spectroscopy, rare-earth elements, ligand synthesis, d- and f-block metal complexes, hybrid materials, and electroluminescent devices such as TFELDs and OLEDs.
