I have a Bachelor's degree in Dentistry from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1996), a Master's degree in Biological Sciences - Anatomy - Botucatu from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP (1999), and a PhD in Morphofunctional Sciences from the University of São Paulo - USP (2004). I also have a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Salamanca - USAL (Spain - 2008) and a Free Teaching degree in Neuroanatomy (2016). I conducted a Post-Doctorate at the Institute of Neuroscience of Castilla y León - INCYL (Spain). I have experience in the morphological study of the central nervous system, with a focus on Neuroscience. My main research interests include the musculotopic representation in motor nuclei (facial and trigeminal), connectivity of neural centers (cochlear root neurons, VNTB, A5, raphe nuclei), behavioral evaluation of the acoustic startle reflex, influence of food restriction on the expression of neuropeptides related to energy balance, neuroglia, spatial memory and hippocampus, morphological description of the parrot's brain (Amazona aestiva), and expression of neuropeptides related to social bonding. I have expertise in morphological study methods of the nervous system, including stereotaxic approach of the central nervous system for tracing neural pathways or performing selective nucleus lesions (electrolytic or neurotoxic), immunohistochemistry at the structural and ultrastructural level of the central nervous system (transmission electron microscopy), morphometry, tissue section densitometry, stereology, and 3D reconstruction of neural structures and circuits. I have experience in experimental manipulation of the nervous system in rodents (rats and mice), primates, rabbits, and birds. I develop didactic materials to support both in-person and distance learning (Blended Learning), such as models, 3D prints, and digital objects (web pages, software, 3D models of human and animal anatomy, courses in virtual learning environments - VLEs like Moodle and Google Classroom), mainly focused on sectional anatomy and neuroanatomy teaching. I am a scientific consultant for Portuguese-language versions of educational materials. I have been participating in university extension activities at the Anatomy Museum since 2010, where I serve as a member of the coordination team and participate in welcoming museum visitors. Additionally, I have been involved in various extension projects, with a focus on preparing collection pieces for the general public and visually impaired individuals. I am a member of the Brazilian Society of Anatomy, Brazilian Society of Neuroscience and Behavior, and the Society for Neuroscience. I have received support from the Young Researchers in Emerging Centers Program of the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). Currently, I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Structural and Functional Biology (Anatomy Section) at the Institute of Biosciences of Botucatu - São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho, with full dedication to teaching and research. I am responsible for the Applied Anatomy to Imaging course in the Biomedical Sciences program (IBB-UNESP) and the Coordinator of the Nervous System module in the Medicine program (FMB-UNESP). I am also responsible for the Neuromorphology Laboratory and the leader of the research group "Neurosciences: histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and connectivity of neural centers" (www.dgp.cnpq.br/dgp/espelhogrupo/9072567604975139). I am the leader of the Google Educators Group in Botucatu (GEG - Botucatu).
