Cintia Duarte de Freitas Milagre

I received the title of Pharmacist from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1996-2001), Master in Chemistry from UNICAMP (2001-2003) and PhD in Science from UNICAMP (2003-2007). Afterward, I continued for another two years at IQ-UNICAMP, working as a collaborating researcher and postdoctoral fellow (2007-2009). In 2010, I was awarded a FAPESP Young Researcher project at the Institute of Biological Sciences at UNESP in Rio Claro, through which I started a partnership with the biocatalysis group at the Technological University of Delft in the Netherlands, where I later spent two months as a guest researcher. I am currently an Associate Professor (Livre Docente) in the Department of Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry at the UNESP Chemistry Institute in Araraquara, accredited in the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry at this institute, where I supervise at the masters and doctoral levels. I am co-coordinator of Milagre Lab, where we carry out research in the area of #8203;#8203;Organic Chemistry and Biotechnology, with an emphasis on Green Chemistry, Sustainable Chemistry, and Biocatalysis, working mainly on the development of enzymatic catalysis methodologies for the synthesis of bioactive chiral molecules and enzymatic degradation of organic compounds. I value greener Chemistry, and, in this sense, I am a representative of the IQ-UNESP of the Green Chemistry Commitment - Beyond Benign, ambassador of the My Green Lab organization, and moderator of the Green Chemistry Teaching and Learning Community (GCTLC) forum.
