Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences - Molecular Biology Modality from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP - 2000), a doctorate and post-doctorate in Sciences (Biology - Genetics) from the University of São Paulo (USP - 2006). She is currently an Associate Professor III at FCF/USP and coordinates the graduate Program in Biochemical-Pharmaceutical Technology (08/2024 CAPES 5.0 in the Pharmacy Area). She has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Molecular Biology with an emphasis on the Study of Molecular and Biological Functions of Genes involved in cellular processes such as: cancer and resistance to antitumor drugs. She conducts research on heterologous protein production in microorganisms such as bacteria and yeast and protein engineering for the production of biopharmaceuticals, such as the enzyme asparaginase, used in the treatment of Childhood Acute Lymphoid Leukemia. She was coordinator of the USP team in the iGEM global synthetic biology competition from 2018-2023; in 2021 the team was classified as Top10 best in the world in the competition.
