He holds a degree in Cartographic Engineering from São Paulo State University (UNESP), obtained in 1987. He earned a master's degree in Geodetic Sciences from the Federal University of Paraná in 1991, followed by a PhD in Engineering from the University of São Paulo in 1996. In 2003, became an Associate Professor at UNESP. He has also completed postdoctoral studies at several institutions, including the University of Maine in the USA (1999-2000), the University of Calgary in Canada (2007-2008), and the University of New Brunswick in Canada (2012-2013). Currently, he serves as a Full Professor at UNESP, where he is involved in both undergraduate and stricto sensu graduate programs. He benefits from research projects funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Additionally, he acts as an ad hoc consultant for several scientific journals, including Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing, IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, IEEE Geoscience and Remote Letters, GIScience and Remote Sensing, and the Journal of Applied Remote Sensing. His expertise lies in the field of Geosciences, with a focus on Photogrammetry and Laser Scanning (LiDAR). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
