Ana Gabriela Mendes Braga

Professor of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs in Law at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of UNESP, with full dedication to teaching, research, and extension, where she leads the Department of Public Law. She holds a Law degree, a Masters and a PhD in Criminal Law, and a Habilitation in Criminology from the University of São Paulo (USP). During her academic formation, she completed a research stay at the Department of Anthropology of the Universitat de Barcelona and postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Brasília (UnB) and the Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia (CRIA - UMinho). She has been a visiting researcher at the Oñati International Institute for the Sociology of Law (IISL) and is a member of the Feminist Network for Teaching, Research, and Extension in Law, as well as the Research Group FIGAS (Feminisms, Images, Genders, and Arts). She served as director, and is currently an associate, of the Empirical Research Network in Law (REED). She coordinates NEPAL (Center for Research and Studies on Imprisonment and Freedoms) and the extension project C.E.L. (Prison, Expression, and Freedom).
