Paula Tavares Pinto is an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages at São Paulo State University (UNESP), São José do Rio Preto, where she teaches at undergraduate level and in the Graduate Program in Linguistic Studies. She holds a Livre-Docência (Habilitation) in Corpus-Based Translation and Language Teaching, as well as an MA and a PhD in Linguistic Studies, including a PDEE-CAPES doctoral research stay at the University of Manchester (UK), a postdoctoral training at the University of Surrey (FAPESP) and another one at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP). She is a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow (PQ-C). She currently coordinates the Language Centre and Teacher Development Unit (CLDP/IBILCE) and was the coordinator of the English Teaching Assistants Program (CAPES/Fulbright) from 2011 to 2024. She was a visiting researcher at the University of Queensland (Australia) under the CAPES/PrInt UNESP programme, where she co-edited a book on Data-Driven Learning. She is an executive editor of the journal DELTA: Documentation of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics and a reviewer of national and international journals. She leads the En-Corpora research group (Corpus-Based and Data-Driven Language Teaching) and is a member of research groups in Translation, Terminology, and Corpus Linguistics (GELC). Her research interests include Translation Studies, Terminology, Corpus Linguistics, and Language Teaching and Learning, with a focus on data-driven pedagogical approaches for translator and teacher education, academic writing in English, and sustainability in scientific discourse.
