Pedro Henrique Campello Torres

Professor in the field of Environmental Sciences, with an emphasis on territorial planning and environmental and coastal management. He is affiliated with the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the Institute of Biosciences, São Paulo State University (UNESP), Coastal Campus. He serves as a faculty member in the Graduate Program in Environmental Science (PROCAM) at the University of São Paulo (USP), and in the Graduate Program in Biodiversity of Coastal Environments (PPG-BAC) at UNESP.He is an ad hoc advisor for CAPES in the Environmental Sciences area, and a member of several research groups, including the Environment and Society Group (IEA-USP), INCLINE (INterdisciplinary CLimate INvestigation cEnter), and GovAmb (IEE-USP). He is a Research Fellow of the Earth System Governance Project and a member of the Climate and Water Task Force of the International Water Resources Association (IWRA).His research focuses on socio-environmental management and planning, with particular attention to environmental inequalities, climate justice, just adaptation to climate change, and coastal cities. He coordinates LADAMPS the Laboratory for Research on Environmental Inequalities, Climate Change, and Planning in Socioecological Systems.He is also an editor of the journal Local Environment and a Lead Author for the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report (AR7), Working Group II: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability.
