He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNESP - Guaratinguetá (1990), a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNICAMP (1994), a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UNICAMP (1999), a post-doctorate in Machining Technology from UNESP (2005) and a post-doctorate at the Center for Precision Metrology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (USA) in 2024. He is currently a Full Professor (MS-6) in Machining of Materials (2015) at UNESP Guaratinguetá Campus, coordinator of the Machining Study Laboratory (LEU) of the Department of Materials and Technology (DMT). He has experience in Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis on Manufacturing Processes (Machining). Acting mainly in the analysis and optimization of the machining of aluminum alloys, titanium alloys and nickel-based superalloys; with emphasis on the study of chip formation, wear mechanisms, the influence of cutting fluid on machining operations and the application of experimental ceramic tools. He has currently participated in projects in which the objective is to study the machining (drilling and milling) of composite materials, whether in laminated form or in the form of hybrid metal/fiber composites, for applications in the aeronautical and automotive industries.
