She has a degree in English from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCAr). She also has a Masters degree in Linguistics from UFSCAr and a PhD degree in Linguistic Studies from UNESP-São José do Rio Preto. In 2001, she attended a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course at the University of California-Irvine. She is currently an English Language Professor at UNESP-Araraquara, where she also works in the Graduate Program in Linguistics and Portuguese Language. Her research interests are: English Language Teaching and Learning, English for Specific Purposes and Academic Purposes, English as a Medium of Instruction and Teacher Education.
