**Associate Professor and Tenured Professor in Microbiology at FCF/UNESP**, with extensive academic and scientific experience. **CNPq Researcher Level 1C**, holding an h-index of 37. Coordinated the Young Investigator Project funded by **FAPESP** and received the **CAPES Interfarma Thesis Award 2018** and the **UNESP Best Thesis Award 2018** as an advisor. He is the leader of the **CNPq research group on "New Drug Discovery for Tuberculosis"** and serves as coordinator of the **Tuberculosis Drug Research Division** within the **REDE-TB** network.He is part of the editorial boards of journals such as the *Brazilian Journal of Microbiology* and *Frontiers in Drug Discovery*, and serves as a reviewer for renowned journals like *Nature* and *The Lancet Infectious Diseases*. Additionally, he acts as **Guest Editor** for several scientific publications. He maintains prominent international collaborations with prestigious institutions, including **Kings College** and the **Francis Crick Institute** (United Kingdom), **University of Copenhagen** (Denmark), **CIC biomaGUNE** (Spain), **University of Lisbon** (Portugal), **University of Siena** (Italy), **National Institutes of Health** (USA), and the **University of Illinois at Chicago** (USA).He served as **Head of the Department of Biological Sciences at FCF/UNESP** for two consecutive terms (20202024) and as **Chair of the Permanent Research Committee** (20162017). Since 2012, he has been a permanent member of the Graduate Program in Biosciences and Biotechnology Applied to Pharmacy (CAPES Level 7) at FCF/UNESP, where he supervises masters, doctoral, and postdoctoral research.He earned his degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2004 from FCF/UNESP and completed his masters and doctoral studies at the same institution in 2008 and 2011, respectively. During his doctoral studies, he conducted a research internship at the **Institute for Tuberculosis Research** at the **University of Illinois at Chicago** (2010), resulting in a paper that has garnered over 300 citations. In 2011, he began a postdoctoral fellowship at FCF/UNESP, completed in 2012. Currently, he leads regular and thematic projects funded by **FAPESP**, focusing on **"TB drug discovery"**.
