Alfredo Pereira Junior

holds a degree in Philosophy from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1984), a degree in Business Administration from the Foundation of Accounting and Administrative Sciences Machado Sobrinho (1983), a master's degree in Philosophy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1986) and a doctorate in Logic and Philosophy of Science by the State University of Campinas (1994). Post-Doctorate in Brain and Cognition Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1996-98). Full Professor at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP). Accredited teacher and advisor in the Public Health (1999-2018: Faculty of Medicine, UNESP-Botucatu) and Philosophy (1996-currently: Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences, UNESP-Marília) programs. Visiting Scientist at the KEY Institute for Mind-Brain Research, University of Zurich (2012), Visiting Researcher at the Department of Psychology at the University of Copenhagen (2012), Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pavia (2015) and Department of Psychology, Goldsmiths-University of London (2019). Task Coordinator in the Thematic Project / FAPESP "Systemic, Self-Organization and Information", linked to the Center for Logic and Epistemology of the University of Campinas (2011-2016). Has experience in the areas of Ontology, Epistemology, Physiological Psychology (Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience) and Mental Health, acting mainly on the following themes: Monism of Triple Aspect, Mind and Brain, Human Consciousness, Neuro-Astrocytic Interactions, Philosophy of Life Sciences and of health.
