Birthplace: Brazil

PhD in Portuguese Culture from the University of Lisbon (1998), she was a fellow of the CNPq's Newly Doctorate Program at UNESP Araraquara Campus from 1999 to 2001. From 2003 to 2007, she worked as a professor and researcher in the CAPES/PRODOC Program for Supporting Institutional Projects with the Participation of Newly Doctorate Scholars at UNESP Franca Campus. She is a Full Professor of Medieval History at São Paulo State University (UNESP/Franca), and her current research and publications focus on: the writing of history in the Middle Ages; European travel between the 13th and 15th centuries; and forms and expressions of Christian morality in the Iberian kingdoms during the 14th and 15th centuries. She is a Brazilian Corresponding Member of the Portuguese Academy of History; coordinator of the Luso-Brazilian Group Medieval Roots of Modern Brazil; was Principal Investigator of the group Writings on the New Worlds (Thematic Project Grant FAPESP, 20152021), based at UNESP/Franca; and is currently one of the coordinators of this group.
