Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Pernambuco (2005), Masters degree in Genetics from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2008), and PhD in Biological Sciences (Genetics) from São Paulo State University (UNESP/Botucatu, 2011). Postdoctoral training at the Department of Morphology, UNESP/Botucatu (2011), the Department of Genetics, University of Granada, Spain (2017), and the Institute of Entomology, Czech Republic (20182019). Served as a visiting researcher/professor at the University of Jaén, Spain (20222023). Associate Professor (MS 5.3) at the Department of General and Applied Biology, UNESP/Rio Claro-SP, and leader of the ICG Insect Cytogenomics Group since 2011. At the undergraduate level, teaches Evolution and Cytogenetics for the Biological Sciences program. Faculty member of the Graduate Program in Biological Sciences (Cellular, Molecular, and Microbiology). Research experience in Genetics, with an emphasis on Cytogenetics and the genomic organization/evolution of animals, especially insects, focusing mainly on: (i) repetitive DNA, (ii) B chromosomes, (iii) sex chromosomes, (iv) karyotype evolution, (v) genome organization, and (vi) insects.
