He holds a degree in Geography from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1990), a PhD in Geography from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2002), a postdoctoral degree from the University of Alicante, Spain (2008-2009), and a professorship in Physical Geography from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2014) and Full Professor (2025) at the São Paulo State University. He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho. He is a master's and doctoral advisor. He has experience in the field of Physical Geography, with an emphasis on Geomorphology, working mainly on the following topics: Geomorphology, geomorphological mapping, erosion, technogenic deposits, anthropocene, and the environment.
