University of São Paulo: Pharmacy-Biochemistry (1972); Toxicology, Master's degree (1976); Toxicology PhD (1982), CAPES sandwich scholarship (1980), Bradford, England. She completed postdoctoral internships abroad: Essen (1986), Kiel (1987), and Dresden (1992) in Germany, and Leiden (1994) in the Netherlands.Between 1977 - 2004, she coordinated the Pharmacology Therapeutics Laboratory at the Instituto do Coração - HCFMUSP/ public competition (1976). She worked as director providing precision medicine services for outpatient, inpatient care undergoing intensive care/patient bedside. As an Associate Professor after a competitive examination for tenured professorship, she conducted research between 1987 and 1999 and supervised nine doctoral theses in the graduate program at the University of Sao Paulo.She is a full professor of Pharmacotherapy Pharmacokinetics at the University of São Paulo, after a competitive examination in 2000, and has supervised additionally 20 doctoral theses and 19 postdoctoral researchers. Since 1990, she has been the leader of ''Clinical Pharmacokinetics'' research group of the National Research Council (CNPq/Brazil). She is full member of the Academic Corps since 2006, and research leader in projects on critically ill patients with severe septic burns, Intensive Care Unit of Plastic Surgery/Burns, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sao Paulo. Since 2006 she has been involved in ''Combating Microbial Resistance'' in projects investigating major burn patients in septic shock caused by hospital pathogens.The group also coordinates research projects in the development/validation of bioanalytical methods, precision medicine, clinical pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamic models, PK/PD modeling, biotransformation and genetic polymorphism with CYP markers, PK/PD approach in antibiotic coverage based on serum levels, cultures, and biomarkers of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS). In the new research line, the group investigates the expression of renal secretion biotransporters in critically ill patients with major burns/ICU during SIRS.Since 2016, she has been working as a collaborating researcher in the Biochemistry-Toxicology of the Central Laboratory Division, Department of Clinical Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sao Paulo. She is a full member of the Brazilian Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences (2024), occupying chair 73, named after Academic Mario Taveira (Patron), and Leon Rabinovitch (Predecessor).She is a full member of several international societies: Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Clinical Toxicology (IATDMCT); European Burn Association (EBA), Microbiology (ASM), Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), Global Sepsis Alliance (GSA) also supporting this Agency at the standard level and contributing to sustaining the global work of this reputable Agency. Currently, she also serves as a member of doctoral committees, an ad hoc advisor to research funding foundations, and a reviewer for several international journals.
