Jefferson is Full Professor (Professor Titular) at Federal University of Lavras UFLA, Food Science Department. Coordinator of Graduate Program in Food Science, UFLA (2020; 2021-2024 and 2025-2029). Sub-boss of the Food Science Department (2020-2023 and 2024-2027). At UNICAMP, he had his graduation and Master degree in Chemical Engineering, pHD and Post doctorated in Mechanical Engineering. He also obtained a Post doctoration at Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, Espanha. Besides, he has done several short technical stages (ITAL 2016, Universidad Politecnica Valencia 2014, UNICAMP 2010, 2008, McGill University 2009 and Queensland University 2007). He is permanent professor at three post-graduation programs at UFLA: Food Science (grade 6), Agricultural Engineering and Food Engineering. He is academic advisor of BIC Jr; IC; Master, Doctoral and post doctoral supervisor.The focus of his research is dehydration of food and its co-products (cold plasma, osmotic, ultrasound, spray drying, microwave and conventional drying/dehydration), Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and drying of agricultural products as coffee, grains and seeds. He is member of the editorial board of the periodic Food Discover - Springer Nature and reviewer of several journals. He obtained finantial suport on CNPq, CAPES, FINEP and FAPEMIG. He is one of the researchers of the Processing and Research Center on Agricultural Products, UFLA. Some partners collaboration with University of Georgia, Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, UNESP and USP with sandwich advised students, Florida AM University, Universidade Federal da Paraíba and Universidade Estadual do Mato Grosso as member of research projects; Universidade Estadual Paulista and Universidad Entre Rios, Argentina with co-authored published works. He integrated the scientific Committee of The International Drying Symposium, IDS 2018.The subjects he teaches is Unit Operations I, Industrial installations and Work Security and Food Drying.
