Raquel Fonseca Maldonado

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the State University of Londrina (2005), MSc (2008) and Ph.D. (2013) in Biochemistry and Imunology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto-USP. Served during the Masters in structure, function and biophysical characterization of proteins. Has experience in heterologous protein expression in E. coli and Pichia pastoris and extensive knowledge in refolding process and protein structure. During his PhD worked in the engineering of protein thermostability by site-specific glycosylation employing molecular biology techniques, eukaryotic expression system and characterization of enzymes of industrial interest such as xylanase, laccase, glucanase and phytase. It also held internship in IRIC (Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer), in the University of Montreal,where acquired knowledge of mass spectrometry and proteomics.
