Graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa with a Bachelor in Science (B.Sc) in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. PhD graduate from the University of São Paulo (USP-ESALQ), Brazil with a thesis focused on sugarcane metabolomics and transcriptomics studies, and their integration via bioinformatics tools. Additionally, an MBA in Agribusiness is being pursued from the University of São Paulo (USP-ESALQ). I am fluent in Afrikaans, English, and Portuguese (Brazilian), and have proficient Spanish language skills. I have extensive experience in theoretical, experimental and practical research, project management, product management, and business intelligence, since I have worked in academia as well as in the industry in two different countries. I recently returned to academia as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Chemistry with the aim of building my academic curriculum by contributing via publications as well as teach in higher education, specifically at the University of São Paulo.
