Keyla Santos Guedes de Sá

Cellular and Molecular Immunologist, with focus on basic immunology, Host-pathogens interactions, innate immune sensing and strong background in molecular biology. Over the past 10 years, I have been focusing my research on answering fundamental question on the host-pathogens interaction, focusing mostly on the innate immune response to different pathogens, including parasites and virus. During my master's degree at the Universidade do Pará I had the opportunity to work with molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases as well as on Immunogenetics, including the investigation of the presence of SNPs in cytokines genes and their association with susceptibility/resistance to infections and currently. On my Ph.D. at the University of São Paulo, I was investigating the role o intracellular Nod-like Receptors and pyroptosis (an inflammatory cell death) on the response against Leishmania and SARS-CoV-2 infection.
