I am currently a CONICET Postdoctoral Fellow at the "Alejandro Korn" Institute of Philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina, under the supervision of Prof. Bruno Borge, as of September 1, 2023.The project I am working on aims to naturalize "metaphysical emergence" by exploring the possibility of eliminating the "substantialist presuppositions" found in traditional naturalist and/or monist metaphysics. My research spans from the relationship between ontology and metaphysics to the formalization of such models through appropriate non-predicative formal languages and ampliative logics, including the construction of intrinsically modal models. My goal is to contribute to a processual and emergentist vision.I earned my B.A. in Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (2009), an M.A. in Theoretical Philosophy at the Pontifical Lateran University (2012), and another M.A. in Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" (2012). I obtained my Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Padua (2016), specializing in the philosophy of logic and language under the supervision of Prof. Massimiliano Carrara. During my doctoral research, I was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Logic, Epistemology, and History of Science (CLE) at the State University of Campinas (Brazil) for a total of 10 months (5+5).In March 2016, I defended my doctoral dissertation, addressing some formal semantics issues in plural logic. Additionally, during the semester of my dissertation defense, I attended two post-graduate courses in person at CLE, one in Mathematical Logic and the other in Set Theory. After a challenging two-year period in which I struggled to secure funding for my research, I left Italy to return to Brazil, where I finally continued my work as a FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellow (2019-2023) at CLE under the supervision of Prof. Marco Ruffino. There, through a project aimed at investigating the foundations of process ontology and metaphysics, I focused particularly on the possibilities and intrinsic limitations in developing formal processual models.During this period, I also had the opportunity to conduct a year of research abroad (10/202110/2022) as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Philosophy at Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA, USA), under the supervision of Prof. Mark H. Bickhard, also funded by FAPESP (BEPE). This experience allowed me to deepen my research by tackling the problem of metaphysical emergence and identifying its processual presuppositions.
