Throughout my career, I have collaborated directly with diverse communities, Indigenous Peoples, policymakers, and international organisations across Brazil, Mozambique, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sweden, and Belgium. My work bridges grassroots organising, civic space protection, and knowledge co-production, centring equity, collaboration, and art-based storytelling as tools for socio-environmental justice. Over the last four years, I co-led the Brazil case study of the international XPaths project, during my PhD in Environmental Management, at the Free University of Brussels, developing transdisciplinary methodologies to engage stakeholders from the Cerrado and Caatinga, including Indigenous Peoples and Traditional Communities, in shaping sustainability transformations. This work produced a regional Action Plan, presented at UNCCD COP16, and was grounded in multisited qualitative research, emphasising dialogue across knowledge systems, governance levels, and worldviews. It strengthened my experience in stakeholder engagement and policy dialogues with actors from business, industry, civil society, academia, and government. My academic trajectory initially focused on the Amazon and its peoples. I hold two Master's degrees from Stockholm University: one in Social-Ecological Resilience at the Stockholm Resilience Centre (AGENTS project, led by Professor Eduardo Brondizio), and another in Political Science, specialising in Environmental Social Studies. These studies examined forest degradation and the often-overlooked roles of Indigenous and local women in sustainable land use, employing decolonial methodologies to rethink resistance and agency in the Santarém region (PA) and São Gabriel da Cachoeira (AM). These experiences shaped my capacity for ethnographic fieldwork, multi-stakeholder facilitation, and the development of participatory tools that are both rigorous and relational. I have conducted multi-sited ethnographic research and facilitated participatory processes with policymakers, scientists, civil society organisations, and Indigenous and Traditional Communities in Brazil and Mozambique. I employ qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews, focus groups, network analysis, document analysis, and engagement workshops, to critically examine how knowledge can be translated and embedded in policy arenas. With a background in media and public engagement, I bring strategic communication, intercultural facilitation, and a strong commitment to amplifying frontline voices and supporting community-led change.
