Resumo

Cerambycidae Latreille, 1802 é uma das mais diversas famílias de besouros (Insecta, Coleoptera). O grupo está representado por oito subfamílias e dentre essas, Lamiinae Latreille, 1825 com cerca de 20.000 espécies descritas é a mais diversa. Alguns agrupamentos como tribos, não estão bem definidos e carecem de um estudo cladístico como é o caso de Aerenicini Lacordaire, 1872. A tribo está composta por 138 espécies em 26 gêneros e está registrada apenas para a região Neotropical. Autores prévios levantaram questões biogeográficas sobre a ausência de espécies em determinadas áreas. O projeto tem como principais objetivos realizar uma análise cladística de Aerenicini, testar o monofiletismo e o relacionamento evolutivo dos seus gêneros e da tribo utilizando caracteres morfológicos assim como um estudo sob a perspectiva da biogeografia cladística com o intuito de propor hipóteses sobre a evolução do grupo na região Neotropical. O estudo será o primeiro em uma tribo de Lamiinae Neotropical com uma abordagem cladística e biogeográfica e contribuirá para estudos futuros, principalmente estudos biogeográficos. (AU)
