Luiz Fernando Gorup holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry (2008), master (2010), PhD (2014) from the Federal University of São Carlos- UFSCar, and postdoc in UFSCar and University of Michigan. I am currently a Visiting Professor in the Federal University of Grande Dourados- Brazil, I am researcher at CEPID-CDMF - Center for the Development of Functional Materials, at INCTMN - National Institute of Science and Technology in Nanometric Materials and at the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Electrochemistry and Ceramics (LIEC-UFSCar) I have knowledge in chemistry and experience in nanoparticle synthesis of various shapes (wires, rods, pyramids, discs, spheres), sizes, and constituents (conductors/semiconductors/inorganics/organic): metal sulfide, metal oxide (titanium, ruthenium, zinc, iron, manganese, silver, copper), metal nanoparticles (gold, silver, platinum), graphene and others. I also have knowledge in characterization with spectroscopies (UV-Vis, fluorometer); Electron microscopies (scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy)( I was trained to use equipment by University of Michgan); optical microscopy and; Raman spectroscopy; XDR; XPS; Pulsed Laser Deposition, spin coating for antimicrobial activity, electrical, photocatalytic, magnetic propriety. My strong background and knowledge in green synthesis of particles (soft solution processing), hybrid materials, biotemplates, nanocomposites, supraparticles, nanostructures, biomaterials, and self-assembly, will bring research outcomes that push nanoscience boundaries in nanoengineering. The focus of my thesis in University of Rennes-France, was the preparation thin films of Bi12TiO20 by Pulsed Laser Deposition. In the study the structural (phases, crystallinity, orientation) and microstructural (thickness, morphology) properties of the thin films were evaluated according to the deposition conditions (temperature, oxygen pressure, target-substrate distance, laser frequency). In my doctoral studies, I worked with new methods of synthesis titanium oxide nanoparticles. In the study, I discovered a new metastable phase of titanium dioxide which resulted in a patent and article published in Ceramics International in 2015. The focus of my second postdoctoral appointment in Brazil was the preparation of nanostructured materials using microwave-hydrothermal methods for synthesis of RuO2/RGO and analysis in-situ of electrochemical reduction o RGO. The representative works was published in Chemosphere in 2016 and Carbon in 2015. The focus of my postdoctoral work in Brazil and in Prof. Kotov?s research group (USA) was the preparation of nanostructured materials by self-assembly of nanoparticles. The representative works was published in Colloids and Interfaces 2018, Bioconjugate Chemistry 2016, and showed the use of biomolecules produced by fungus in self-assembly of metal nanoparticles for construction of suprastructures. There are other papers in prepare about the Biomimetic Hedgehog Supraparticles such as efficient photocatalysis for degradation of organic dye. I have experience in synthesis metal-oxide nanomaterials by soft chemical approaches (coprecipitate, self-assembly, hydrothermal synthesis) and supraparticles an suprastructures. While conducting research, I voluntarily proposed the ideas of the interdisciplinary projects combining green synthesis, soft solution processing, Raman spectroscopy, hydrothermal methods, photocatalysis for degradation, pulsed laser deposition, and actively liaised with experts from outside of my group to create strong collaborations. The research was completed with coworker, experts from outside of my group than created strong collaborations, resulting in 32 works done in partnership (see below). (Fonte: Currículo Lattes)
