Said Ben Hamed

I obtained my Ph. D degree in 2011 at Carthage University, Faculty of Sciences of Bizerte, Tunisia, in Collaboration with the Institute of Research for the Development (IRD). Marseille, France. I focused on the characterization and identification of extremophile bacteria isolated from aerobic and anaerobic conditions. During two years (2013 and 2014), I was granted for post-doctoral position on behalf of the European project UE-MARE NOSTRUM (204195-EM-1-2011-1-ES-ERA MUNDUS-EMA21). These research studies, that attended to disclose the effect of polluted sediment on the seabream well-being and the role of probiotic to enhance the immune response, were realized in collaboration between the Department of Cell Biology and Histology, Faculty of Biology, Regional Campus of International Excellence ''Campus Mare Nostrum'', University of Murcia, Spain and the department of microbiology university of Malaga, Spain. The results were published in international referred journal with impact factor. I worked as an assistant professor, for eight years, in the University of Gabès, Faculty of Sciences of Gabès, Tunisia. Currently, I am developing a post-doctoral research in the Fisheries Institute, Sao Paulo, Brazil, in collaboration with the University of Malaga. This research study is supported by the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP). We focus on the development of vaccine against the most frequent pathogenic bacteria for fish reared in fresh water. In this Project we intend to promote potent aquaculture using several integrative techniques using microbiology, molecular biology, microscopy, hematology and we emphasis on the theme of fish pathology, vaccine and probiotic.
