Ronaldo Alves Ferreira

Ronaldo A. Ferreira is a Full Professor of Computer Science at the College of Computing (Faculdade de Computação) of UFMS. He received his B.Sc. degree from UFMS in 1992, his M.S. degree from the University of Campinas in 1998, and his Ph.D. degree from Purdue University in 2006, all in Computer Science. From 2014 to 2016, he was a Visiting Research Scholar and Visiting Associate Professor at Princeton University, USA. He served as Chair of the Special Interest Group on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC) from 2011 to 2013, and as a member of the Board of Administration of the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (RNP) during the same period. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian National Laboratory of Computer Networks (LARC) from 2014 to 2023. He currently serves as Director of Cooperation with Scientific Societies of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC) and as a Board Councillor of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). Ronaldo has served on the program committees of the most selective conferences in his field, including ACM SIGCOMM, USENIX NSDI, ACM IMC, and IEEE ICNP. His research has been published in the most selective conferences such as ACM SIGCOMM, ACM SIGMETRICS, ACM CCS, USENIX ATC, and IEEE INFOCOM, and has received several prestigious awards, including the 2023 IETF/IRTF Applied Networking Research Prize, Best Paper Honorable Mention at ACM CCS 2022, Best Paper Runner-Up at IFIP Networking 2020, and Best Paper at the ACM SIGCOMM Workshop on Self-Driving Networks 2018.
