[Page not updated, enter here to stay updated: https://www.grossisergio.com/] Sergio Grossi will be Assistant Professor of Criminology (Tenure-Track) at the sociology department of John Jay College (City University of New York) starting in August. He is currently a researcher at the Complutense University of Madrid and the Sorbonne Institute of Legal and Philosophical Sciences. Dr. Grossi's research focuses on an international comparative analysis of best practices in the domains of education and reintegration for incarcerated persons. He worked as a social educator in shelters for asylum seekers in Bologna and participated in the Action Research working group on migrants' rights launched by Amnesty International Italy. He has been awarded a highly competitive Marie Sk#322;odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) grant, supported by the UNESCO Chair in Applied Research for Education in Prison. Dr. Grossi's expertise and research have led to invitations as a visiting scholar at prestigious institutions, including Cambridge University and, in 2024, UNESCO and Columbia University. Furthermore, he has conducted research at the Centre for the Study of Violence in São Paulo, the Federal University of Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro, and European institutions such as the University of Bologna, the University of Padua, and Paris Nanterre University.
