Guillermo Uceda Campos

Guillermo Uceda-Campos holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. His research centers on the evolutionary arms race between bacteria and bacteriophages. His work spans genome assembly, annotation, and comparative analysis of bacterial and metagenomic datasets. In addition to his core research, Guillermo has also worked on the genomics of phytopathogenic bacteria, such as Xylella fastidiosa. He is proficient in Python, R, Perl, Bash, and various data analysis techniques. His academic experience has been enriched by internships at research centers in France and Chile, where he received training in bioinformatics and immune system detection. With peer-reviewed publications and active participation in scientific conferences, Guillermo integrates computational tools with biological insights to advance our understanding of microbial diversity and genome evolution. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Chemistry, University of São Paulo, where he is conducting experimental and computational analyses to uncover the genomic basis of bacteriophage adaptation in their interactions with bacteria.
