Fabiola Almeida García

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Havana, Cuba (2019). From 2016 to 2019, I participated in scientific initiation at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Havana, under the guidance of Prof. Luis Javier González and Prof. Isel Pascual Alonso. During this period, I worked on proteomics for the characterization of recombinant proteins and the analysis of peptides isolated from the skin of anurans. Between 2019 and 2022, I worked as a young researcher at the Protein Studies Center at the University of Havana, where my research focused on studying new natural and synthetic inhibitors of aminopeptidases with potential biomedical applications in cancer treatment. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, since 2023, under the guidance of Prof. Norberto Peporine Lopes. My research involves the metabolomic characterization of microorganisms and cave-dwelling anurans, aiming to contribute to Brazilian biodiversity studies and identify new molecules with potential biological activity.
