Tylopilus P. Karst is a bolete fungus with a cosmopolitan distribution. Studies focusing on molecular evidence highlighted a strong geographic structuring of amphi-Pacific distributions and possibility of cryptic speciation. In this study, we propose to consider morphological and phylogenetic concepts based on the ITS DNA barcode by describing two new species in the Tylopilus balloui-group in fragments of the Atlantic Forest from northeastern Brazil. We found that T. dunensis and our newly described species T. simulissimus are two very similar taxa. In addition, we also describe in this group T. curtipes, a new well phenetically and phylogenetically delimited species. (AU) | |
