Resumo

The incorrect and excessive use of herbicides poses significant risks to human and animal health, particularly when involving persistent compounds such as triazines. This study presents a novel stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE) method coupled to capillary liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (CapLC-MS/MS) for determining five selected triazine herbicides in environmental waters. The method employs graphene oxide functionalized with 1-vinyl-3-(butyl-4-sulfonate)imidazolium ([VIm+C4SO3- ]@GO) as sorbent, synthesized through sequential functionalization with thiol groups and ionic liquid anchoring, enabling multiple interaction mechanisms with target analytes. Method optimization through univariate and multivariate approaches established optimal conditions: 5 mg sorbent, 15 % methanol, and 2 % NaCl in 10 mL sample, 75 min extraction at 1100 rpm, and 20 min desorption in methanol (150 mu L). Validation demonstrated excellent analytical performance with linearity (r(2) > 0.99), precision (RSD < 15 %), and recovery (41-105.3 %). Detection limits ranged from 0.0005-0.15 ng mL(- 1), with minimal matrix effects in surface and groundwater samples. Notable advantages include simplified sample preparation, reusable extraction devices (six cycles), and high-throughput capability (15 simultaneous samples). Green analytical assessment using AGREE and BAGI tools showed favorable sustainability metrics (0.51 and 65.0, respectively). This method provides a reliable analytical tool for triazine monitoring in environmental waters, combining efficient extraction with high analytical performance. (AU)
