Resumo

This paper proposes a comprehensive methodology for integrating wind power generation into preventive control selection for voltage stability in day-ahead operation planning. The approach incorporates uncertainties from short-term wind power forecasts into the evaluation of critical voltage stability scenarios. It also leverages the reactive power control capability of Wind Power Plants (WPPs) to enhance the voltage stability margin. A Cross-Entropy (CE) based method is introduced to identify deviations from predicted wind power generation that pose risks to voltage stability. Additionally, the methodology employs a hierarchical screening process to incorporate the reactive power control of WPPs as a preventive measure and rank it alongside other available system controls. Validation is performed using a test system based on a real bulk power network. The results indicate that scenarios arising from variations in WPP output power within the uncertainty range can be as critical as a contingency. Furthermore, the method verifies that the reactive power provided by the WPP is a valuable resource for enhancing a power system's Voltage Stability Margin (VSM). In conclusion, the proposed approach ensures a robust voltage stability margin, even under previously identified critical scenarios. (AU)
