Resumo

Existing approaches to overlay dynamic spectrum access (DSA) typically enable spectrum sharing only when the primary transmitter is inactive. However, accurately geolocating vacant bands is essential for supporting spectrum reuse even when the primary transmitter remains active. This study proposes and validates a geolocation strategy based on non-cooperative spectrum sensing within a database-driven Internet-of-Things framework. The method employs scattered sensors that perform individual detections, whose binary decisions are mapped into space through Voronoi partitioning and refined using an adaptive spatial interpolation logic. Simulation results demonstrate that the approach achieves a high spectrum-hole geolocation detection rate with low variance. Compared to cooperative spectrum sensing, the proposed strategy offers superior spatial fidelity while significantly reducing communication overhead, establishing itself as a simpler and more scalable solution for cognitive radio networks.
