Resumo

In this work, the quantitative electroanalytical determination of Fenitrothion pesticide was studied using a bare glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and Square Wave Anodic Stripping Voltammetry (SWASV). The method to modify the GCE electrode surface with the MWNTs was optimized to avoid the contamination by the pesticide adsorption. Infusions of apple tea samples were spiked with the pesticide and analyzed by the standard addition method using the GCE/MWNT electrode. The obtained Limits of Detection (LD) and Quantification (LQ) were 7.30 x 10(-7) mol L-1 and 2.40 x 10(-6) mol L-1, respectively. The recovery values were between 96.0 and 104%. The results confirmed the method suitability to the determination of fenitrothion in commercial apple tea samples with the increase of the detection limits and avoiding irreversible contamination of the electrode surface by the pesticide.
